THE LASER EDITCarefully chosen. Personally planned.
THE ESSENTIALS

A little clarity.
Before you begin.

Laser hair removal uses light absorbed by pigment in the hair to heat and damage the follicle, reducing future growth. It works as a series of appointments, with results that vary by hair, skin and body area. [2]

02 / IS LASER RIGHT FOR ME?

Your skin.
Your starting point.

Suitability comes before a treatment plan. A device name alone cannot tell you whether laser is appropriate for your skin and hair. [4][5]

01

Pigmented hair

Dark, coarse hair generally responds better than very fine fuzz. White, grey, red and very blonde hair may respond poorly or not at all.

02

Skin tone & tanning

Skin colour and a current tan affect risk. A different wavelength may suit darker skin better. A recent tan or sunburn needs assessment before an appointment.

03

Health & treatment area

Medication, pregnancy, skin conditions, infections and previous skin reactions belong in the consultation. Tell us about tattoos or unusual skin marks in the area beforehand.

DEKA AGAIN COS Alexandrit-Laser
DEKA AGAIN COS / ALEXANDRITE 755 NM
03 / THE TECHNOLOGY AT SALT

Alexandrite.
Precisely explained.

Our DEKA AGAIN COS uses Alexandrite at 755 nanometres. That number describes the wavelength of the light, not a treatment intensity or a promised result. [1]

What does Moveo mean?

DEKA’s Moveo HR handpiece combines repeated passes with contact cooling. It is a way of delivering the laser energy, not a different wavelength. Cooling supports comfort; sensitivity and results remain individual. [1]

Compare Alexandrite, diode & IPL
UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE

Laser is not all the same.

No method is best for everyone. Compare the light source, suitability and the person treating you, not just the name on the device. [9][5]

Alexandrite, diode, Nd:YAG and IPL compared
MethodLightWhat matters
AlexandriteOur DEKA AGAIN COS755 nmTargets melanin in hair. Skin-to-hair contrast and tanning matter when choosing treatment.
Diode laserAnother laser technologyOften around 800–810 nmAlso depends on pigment. Device, settings and practitioner experience affect suitability and results.
Nd:YAGAn alternative to assess individually1064 nmOften preferred for darker skin because less energy is absorbed by the outer skin layer.
IPLAnother light technologyBroad light spectrumIntense pulsed light, not a laser. Results depend on the device and skin and hair profile.

These are general distinctions, not a personal treatment recommendation. We do not offer all the methods in this comparison.

04 / EXPECTATIONS & SAFETY

Less regrowth.
Realistic expectations.

A good decision includes the limits as well as the benefits. The aim is less hair and less frequent shaving; no fixed number of visits guarantees complete hair removal. [7]

  1. A series, not a single visit

Hairs grow in different phases. Repeated appointments address hairs as they enter a responsive growth phase.

  2. Give it time

Treated hairs shed over days to weeks. Evaluate progress across the course, not immediately after the appointment.

  3. Review and maintain

Regrowth can occur. Hormonal changes and body area affect long-term planning; maintenance may be needed.

General treatment information: [2][7]

What about side effects?

Temporary redness, swelling and sensitivity can occur. Burns, blisters, pigment changes and scars are possible. Eye protection and careful skin assessment matter. [3]

Paradoxical hair growth—more hair rather than less—is a recognised risk, particularly on the face and neck. Fine facial hair deserves a careful discussion before treatment. [8]

01

Free consultation

Before your first treatment, we discuss your goals, skin and hair, current tanning and relevant medication. Ask about the treatment plan, risks and whether a test spot is appropriate.

02

Treat

Appropriate protective eyewear is essential during laser treatment. The area is treated using suitable settings, with cooling to support comfort. Tell us immediately if anything feels uncomfortable.

03

Plan ahead

You receive aftercare guidance. Follow-up appointments depend on the area and your progress. The booking duration is for that appointment, not the whole course.

06 / PREPARATION & AFTERCARE

A little preparation.
Thoughtful aftercare.

Use this as a guide for your conversation with us. Exact intervals depend on your skin, the treatment and your individual instructions. [6][2]

Before your visit

  1. In the weeks before

Avoid tanning from sunlight, sunbeds or self-tanner. Do not wax, pluck or epilate. Agree the precise timing with us before your visit.

  2. Before you travel

Shave as agreed; the day before is often recommended. Shaving shortens the hair without removing the root. Avoid trying new, irritating skincare products.

  3. On the day

Keep the area clean and free of makeup, deodorant or cream. Tell us about new medication, recent tanning or irritated skin. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own.

After your visit

  1. Be gentle

A cool compress may ease warmth. Avoid rubbing or scratching. Pause heat, saunas, strenuous exercise and irritating skincare until the skin settles; follow your aftercare instructions.

  2. Plan sun protection

Avoid direct sun and sunbeds. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher on exposed skin. Protection and agreed intervals also matter between appointments.

  3. Watch your progress

Treated hairs shed gradually. Do not pluck them out. Seek medical advice for blisters, severe pain or persistent changes, and let us know.

Who performs the laser treatment?

Your laser treatments are performed by Salta. She holds DEKA AGAIN training certification and German NiSV certification.

Is the laser consultation free and bookable online?

A free consultation takes place before your first treatment. You can also ask questions throughout your appointments. We reserve 30 minutes for a consultation-only appointment. The consultation is free and can be booked online without payment. You can also contact us directly.

What happens if treatment is unsuitable at my appointment?

If treatment is found to be unsuitable when you attend your appointment, we reschedule the treatment appointment.

How many laser treatments will I need?

Plan for a course over several months. Mayo Clinic describes 4–8 treatments as a common guide; this is not a promise for your area. Body area, hair profile, hormones and progress may mean more appointments or later maintenance.

How far apart are appointments?

Appointments are usually several weeks apart. The American Academy of Dermatology often describes 4–6 weeks; some body areas and regrowth patterns need longer intervals. We discuss your individual schedule.

Is laser hair removal really permanent?

The aim is long-term hair reduction. Complete, lifelong hair removal cannot be guaranteed. A 2022 systematic review found varied long-term results across technologies and body areas; these cannot predict your personal result.

Does treatment hurt?

You may feel warmth, pinpricks or a quick snapping sensation. Cooling on the DEKA AGAIN COS supports comfort. Sensitivity varies, so we do not promise painless treatment.

Does Alexandrite work on blonde hair or darker skin?

Hair with very little pigment often responds poorly. Darker skin needs careful device and settings selection; Nd:YAG 1064 nm may be more suitable. Our AGAIN COS uses Alexandrite 755 nm. Please discuss suitability before booking.

Can I start in summer or after a holiday?

A current tan, sunburn and planned sun exposure are what matter. Tell us about a holiday or tanning beforehand. An appointment may need to be postponed; the month alone does not determine suitability.

What about pregnancy, medication or tattoos?

Contact us before booking and speak to your doctor about medical questions. Cosmetic laser treatment is generally postponed during pregnancy. Medication can affect sensitivity to light. Hair removal laser is not used over tattoos.

Can I book facial, intimate or multiple areas?

The catalog includes face, bikini, intimate areas and combinations. Not every area is suitable for every person. Discuss fine facial hair beforehand. Bikini covers only the pubic mound, intimate area covers the external genital area around the vaginal opening, and the perianal / intergluteal area covers around the anus and between the buttocks. Full intimate combines these three areas; buttock cheeks are separate. Full body includes all laser treatment areas in our service catalogue.
